Behind The Scenes At DCA

Ida Indigo Top http://www.deborahcampbellatelier.com/

Take a look behind the scenes at Deborah Campbell Atelier and discover that Modern art is the inspiration for this seasons abstract prints. Our striking Ida Indigo and Anna Abstract tops are influenced by artists like Howard Hodgkin and Gerhard Richter. The starting point of the design process was to create a mood board of painterly abstract artists.

DCA painterly inspiration - mood board
We created a rich landscape effect using tonal indigo hues on the Ida top, achieving a depth of colour only possible by digitally printing. On the Anna abstract top we selected a palette of colour reminiscent to one of Gerhard Richter's or Howard Hodgkins canvas where colour merges with giant brushstrokes. Each style is cut so it's exclusively unique due to the nature of the print design, where no two styles are the same.

Our ethos at DCA is to create pieces that are timeless, ethically made paying fair wages and using raw materials that have the lowest impact on our environment.
At DCA we have strong ethical commitments when producing our range, lets take a look behind the label to discover how and where these styles have been produced.

Ida Indigo and Anna Abstract Tops are made using the following ethical criteria.
  • Our prints are digitally printed in the UK supporting a local British business. and our carbon footprint is kept low. Printing digitally saves on water consumption as it's a waterless form of printing
  • The garments are made in Britain, keeping our carbon footprint low and supports the regeneration of British manufacturing.
  • Creating unique and timeless pieces.  Our tops are designed to be loved and cherished. Investment pieces worn for many seasons. Bespoke prints individual to each customer mean you will never have the same top as another.
We believe in considered purchases that will stand the test of time, our mantra is buy better not more. And for our customers to know that we take pride in what and where we make by choosing low impact materials that have the lowest effect on the environment and partnering with factories that have the same ethos.  We are committed to this sustainable business model and will continue to provide unique ethically made fashion.
