London Fashion Week - The Next Black

London fashion week is a machine of looks trotted out to wow, woo and influence. This way of showing the "new" season has been a regular format for decades. The digital age means the shows are instantly available free on www.style.com. It's an information overload, and in the sea of noise I find it overwhelming that designers create such huge collections and my usual question "why do we need all this stuff" hovers over me like a dark cloud. Indeed there are some stunning creations, but is it creating for creating sake rather looking at the world and saying what do we need and how can we make fashion more sustainable? It may sound super simplistic, and naive to think an industry of 1.7 trillion dollars needs to address such a notion? Orsola de castro has, she has created the film "The Next Black"  by AEG, it addresses the future of fashion and interviews game changing pioneers.  If you want to know will you be wearing clothes made out of bacteria? Or a garment that measures your heart rate when you exercise? Then grab yourself a cuppa and clear 45 minutes out of your day to watch it. This film will change your notion of fashion.
