Deborah Campbell Atelier Launches

Deborah Campbell Atelier www.deborahcampbellatelier.com

Apologies for the lack of posts recently! I have been rather busy, designing, sourcing and setting up Deborah Campbell Atelier. A contemporary British made womenswear label, supporting local British communities is at the core of our values. We are soft launching today with a few limited edition pieces as a preview of what is to come for our Spring/Summer 15 launch in February next year.

The journey to arrive at this point has been a bumpy one. The support I have had from a variety of paid and unpaid sources has been tremendous and I thank each and every individual and organisation for their time and resources.

Creating a fashion line that is both responsibly sourced by having the lowest impact possible on the environment and that is fashionably desirable is extraordinarly challenging. Throw in a startup to boot and it is a recipe marked 'proceed with caution'. You need patience and dedication in spades with a careful measure of faith and a large dollop of pragmatism.

This label is not just a fashion label, it's a range of styles that have been carefully constructed to limit the damage done to our planet as well as supporting local British communities. First and foremost we want our customer to fall in love with our label, then and only then, will they consider our mission and back story. Our three key ingredients for our business model to work.

We are paying a fair price for all our raw materials, and manufacturing, in many cases an increase surcharge is added to our orders as we are buying small quantities because we are a startup. However we never intend to produce more than 150 units of a style in any one season, so we will always have the challenge of surcharges.

Consumers accustomed to fast-fashion price points will no doubt struggle to identify with the true cost of Deborah Campbell Atelier. We encourage consumers to think about the price of an item based on a per use basis and to engage with our careful constructed boutique range that supports the UK and other emerging economies.

We are searching to form a collaboration with a charitable fund that supports vulnerable women and girls. A donation of 20% of all tee-shirt profits will go to the chosen charity.

In the sea of consumer brands and labels, we look forward to making our way into the market place with integrity and care.
Welcome to Deborah Campbell Atelier.
